Safely store your food at night, because.

A few years ago I stayed at one of the huts along the Abel Tasman Trek in New Zealand. Before I had even gotten to the area I heard stories about special little mice that hang out in the huts there. I was told it’s important to safely store and lock your food away at night and not to even keep food on your person.

Then I meet “Rupert”, from Austria. He figured there was no way a little mouse could steal his candy bar at night without him noticing it. He put candy bar in his pant pocket and went to sleep.

The next morning he awoke to find not only his candy bar eaten, but he had a hole in his pocket and another in his sleeping bag.

The lesson…..safely store your food….always!
