Discover a delicious edamame recipe mixed with rice and mushrooms.

This edamame recipe provides a great nutritious meal for a camping trip.

Edamame is the Japanese name for Green Soybeans. The preparation of the "Edamame Bean" is done while the bean is still in the pod.

"Eda-mame" actually means “twig-bean”.

During a recent visit to a Sushi Restaurant in Montrose Colorado, edamame was served as an appetizer while still in the pod. They had been steamed and sprinkled with salt! The beans inside were soft and delicious!

Once the rice was served with dinner I found that the combination with Edamame was delicious! It was then that I realized this simple combination would make a great camping meal.

As a result, during last week’s camping trip I put together various ingredients and came up with the following this edamame recipe.

As usual, I prepared the rice at home before the going camping…it's much easier that way!

The edamame recipe in my home kitchen:

Note: If I were in my home kitchen, I would be preparing the rice at the same time since I have more burners on the stove. When everything is done cooking, spoon the hot rice onto a plate and the serve the contents of the pan over the rice.
